Entry #204.VIII.2024
I was devising a plan to get to a town named Kraskovo, as i heard that Caithe is now located there (iirc - from Caithe herself). The town was located several dozen kilometers southward and a bit to the west from Butovo, where I used to live.
I opened a map and started tracing the route. There was also another smaller settlement i wanted to visit which conveniently turned out to be on the way, iirc its name was along the lines of Antonovka and it was just about a kilometer from Butovo's edge.
To get from Antonovka to Kraskovo, though, one had to be accurate with their turns, as there was an area on the way where every wrong turn would put the traveller on the wrong side of a huge highway going east-southeast, which would then cut them off from the right path (which was just to go in a straight line south).
After tracing this pedestrian route, I checked it with an online map planner, which said such a trip would take five hours on foot to Kraskovo, but only half an hour to Antonovka. I then checked if there is a way to go on the bus between Antonovka and Kraskovo, and surprisingly there was a bus going from somewhere around Buninskaya Alleya (a terminal subway station in Butovo) all the way to Kraskovo.
Thus, I wanted to check the time this bus takes by moving the starting point of my route from Antonovka to Buninskaya Alleya. I had to do this by picking the relevant pointer up by hand in Antonovka, and then levitating through the air at a high speed with this huge pointer (cardboard circle on a metal rod, with a red and white tape stretching from it to Kraskovo) in hands to stick it into the ground at the needed bus stop.
I found a round hole in the sidewalk filled with sand, likely from a decommisioned lamp post, and stuck the pointer in there. However, after the map retraced the route in a couple seconds, it placed the red-white tape, which signified the route, in such a way that its tension pulled the starting pointer out with a great force, sending it flying away through the air. I caught it and tried again, but it happened again, and on the third time it went over a fence of someone's private land, so i gave up and decided to look for the bus schedule via the bus stop itself. (The fence was made of solid metal sheets and colored dark brown)
Returning from this real-world view to the online view, i found the stop i was just at and browsed through buses. I found the bus i wanted, it was coursing between this stop and Kraskovo as its terminal stations with about half an hour travel time. However, for some reason each trip of this bus was recorded in the map as if it was a different bus, thus initially tricking me into thinking the bus only does one trip a day, while in reality it did two or free. I, of course, needed more than one trip a day, because how else would i return from my journey to visit Caithe?
