Entry #827.VIII.2024

I was travelling with the 14th Doctor (older David Tennant's version) over land in the modern day, going from Madrid to London. I remember several scenes being set in either trains, horse carriages (?) or going on foot.

The Doctor was constantly talking about elves, and how he himself is an elf. Elves in this setting were sort of a culture, with cultural restaurants and places alike set throughout the world, and our destination in London was a sort of elven "community center" the Doctor owned and ran.

The community center was set on the ground floor of a large square ring-shaped concrete building with the entrance from the inner yard. The layout of this yard resembled one of a typical shopping center, with shops and other places alike lining the perimeter, having glass walls or no walls at all, and several stands disperced throughout the yard also selling goods; there were also spots of greenery and i think a white marble fountain. The building itself towered for 3-5 floors over that, had no windows or other distinct features, and was rather brutalist in its look; the top of it dissolved into thick white mist that covered the sky. The ground was predominantely small asphalt bricks. The entrance to this yard was through an area where foot-thick rectangular steel columns held the top floors of the building up, allowing for passage under them.

After entering the yard, we went by a stand, where the Doctor greeted the vendor and gave them a large, rather thick book about history and culture of scottish elves. Then we went to the community center, which explicitly stated british elves on its sign.

This place was made in lush green and golden colors (gold on green). The sign board over the entrance was golden letters on a long green rectangle stretching across the entire width of the place; this rectangle featured a lot of floral patterns made from different shades of green. The place was open without any walls, and delimiting it from the yard was a counter of about a meter-twenty in height. I remember a large round rug hanging from the back of a high chair behind the counter; there were also plants on it and i believe an aquarium. The place was lit by bright warm golden light. It smelled like tea, and there was a lot of herbal tea in there.

There was a woman in this space who began talking with the Doctor; she was short, about my mother's age, and wore a russian handkerchief on her head. But before that, the doctor said to me something along the lines of "we crossed an entire continent by ourselves, it's cool" and i began thinking about how goung from madrid to london isn't even close to "crossing a continent" and how we could've done it in under forty hours if we took a train all the way.

Then i started thinking how much time would a madrid to london train really take, forty hours? maybe slightly less twenty-four hours was my second guess? And then i saw a train station in London with a train to Madrid about to depart.

Every part of the train station was in very deep brown, rusty colors - the platforms, the columns, the rails, everything - there was a lot of platforms, but only one of them had a train, others were empty. The train itself was quite colorful: it was painted thin diagonal stripes all around the sides and the roof (i was seeing it from slightly above) of many colors of the rainbow, slightly oldened down (not fully saturated), but not dark either, i now can think of old comic book colors as an association to this color palette. And i knew that this train was going to reach madrid in just five hours.
